CCTAL
Overview
Carmarthenshire Construction Training Association (CCTAL) is a long-established construction association supporting apprentices and trainees across the Carmarthenshire region. Through training, development opportunities, and strong industry links, CCTAL plays a vital role in nurturing the next generation of construction professionals.
The brief
CCTAL wanted to raise its profile both locally and across the wider Carmarthenshire and southwest Wales region. While the association already had a strong reputation and trusted relationships with construction companies, contractors, and colleges, its reach was largely limited to this existing network.
The brief was to build a broader, more visible presence — positioning CCTAL as the go-to association for aspiring apprentices and for construction businesses looking to join a consortium that offers access to networking opportunities, apprentices, and ongoing training.
Our approach
We worked closely with the CCTAL team to act as an extension of their organisation, supporting both strategic visibility and day-to-day communications.
Our work began with establishing and managing social media channels on X and LinkedIn. We introduced a consistent flow of content, including two case studies or stories each month, published on the CCTAL website, promoted across social channels, and shared with the regional press where relevant. Partners featured in this content were encouraged to share it across their own platforms, helping to extend reach and engagement.
We also opened case study opportunities to CCTAL members, ensuring their successes were championed across CCTAL’s website and social channels; while also providing content they could reuse for their own marketing purposes.
Alongside planned content, we supported a range of ad hoc posts highlighting new and evolving projects, community involvement such as fundraisers and donations, school careers events, networking activity, and apprentice progress updates.
In parallel, we delivered a wide range of design support to ensure CCTAL’s branding and messaging were consistent and professional across all touchpoints. This included printed materials such as leaflets, posters, business cards, folders, newsletters, pop-up stalls and pull-up banners, as well as branded folders for annual meetings, work experience placements and apprentice programmes. We also developed PowerPoint templates and internal documents to create a cohesive visual identity throughout the organisation.
As part of this ongoing support, we have also led several targeted campaigns. Most recently, the Pathway to Your Future project focused on showcasing real people and real experiences. We shared behind-the-scenes content from six-week work experience placements, featuring candidates working with well-respected construction companies across Carmarthenshire. Each post included short, engaging explanations of individual trades, placement details, and tagged partner companies to encourage interaction. We also designed the supporting digital and printed materials for the campaign.
The outcome
Through a consistent, people-focused approach, CCTAL has strengthened its visibility, diversified its content, and reinforced its role as a central hub for construction training and apprenticeships in the region. By combining strategic communications with practical design support, we helped present CCTAL as a professional, credible, and community-driven association — both online and offline.
